Dominic Tancredi

Dominic has been playing the drums since age five when he got his first drum set. He began learning while playing along to music from the 50's, Mo town Soul, Funk and R&B. He played in Bagpipe bands for 15 years and at the age of 18 competed in the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. In high school, Dominic was heavily involved in (DCI-style) marching band drumline (on snare and tenors), achieving several "Superior" (I) ratings in state band contests and WGI indoor drumline competitions.

Dominic has been performing and competing for 15 years and teaching for 12. His instruction includes technique, theory/reading, rehearsal/practice methods and composition. He regularly attends clinics and masterclasses and has studied with several notable performers/educators. He has been a clinician for the Percussive Arts Society, has worked with the Benedictine High School Marching Band Drum Line as well as Seven Pipe Bands including Edinboro University Pipe Band.

Currently, Dominic is the owner of Woodshed Percussion Concepts which is a company that designs, manufactures, wholesales and retails high-quality percussion products for drum set, competition pipe band, marching percussion and orchestral applications.
