Linda Kearney

Linda earned her Bachelor's, Masters and Artist Diploma in Flute from the Cleveland Institute of Music and has been teaching piano, flute and violin for years. Her first instrument was piano at age 4 followed by violin and flute a few years later. While pursuing her degree in flute at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Linda maintained years of private piano study

In her teens, Linda was the Principal Flute Chair in the Michigan Youth Symphony, Interlochen All-State Band and Orchestra, Interlochen Arts Academy Symphonic Band and Orchestra, and Michigan State University Symphonic Band and Orchestra. By audition, Linda won a scholarship contract position three consecutive years to be a flutist in the Australian Broadcasting Commission National Training Orchestra and played in the Sydney Symphonic Orchestra.

Linda has held faculty positions at Ursuline College, Cleveland State University and the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has played flute and piccolo in the Canton Symphony and currently begins her 24th season in the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra. In 1984, Ms. Kearney became a founding faculty member of the Music Department at the Eastern Campus of Cuyahoga Community College. She joined the Western faculty in 1990 and Metro in 1993.
