Chris Matyus

Chris Matyus is the owner/operator of Summit Music Studios. He is also the guitar and bass guitar instructor.

Chris holds a Bachelor's degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Akron and has been teaching privately in northeast Ohio for more than 14 years. Currently, Chris is the ArtsPrep and Applied Faculty guitar instructor at the Cuyahoga Community College Western Campus.

As a veteran of eleven music stores/schools, Chris has taught every style of guitar from rock, blues, metal, country, jazz, classical, fingerstyle, acoustic and more. Along with years of teaching experience and now owning and operating Summit Music Studios, Chris is the lead guitarist and main music writer for two local, original bands. One band has released cd's world wide.

Currently, Chris has just finished recording a new cd for one of his bands which will be released this year. Next up are plans to record another cd with his second band and an instrumental guitar cd as well. Chris has also performed many live shows on a local, regional and national level. Along with being an avid original music writer/composer, Chris has been involved in audio production (recording, engineering, editing, etc.) for many years and plans to offer recording services at Summit Music Studios.
